fourteen observations for fourteen days of november:
1. detox day 14. despite much mental chatter, my body actually has survived (and thrived) without sugar or caffeine. this is a minor miracle in my life.
2. an instant cure to no-good-rotten day is a gentle stroll through a children's bookstore.
3. sage and tarragon are two very different seasonings. letting the 16 year old boy working at the grocery store give you sage when you actually needed tarragon is a tragic misfortune. this poor decision can actually ruin an entire meal. literally. inedible.
4. whole foods is a safe haven on nights when your new recipe is a bust. (see #3.) thank you god for that little piece of heaven on earth.
5. having a french hair stylist makes me feel far sexier and more sophisticated than i have ever dreamt to be. i daydream of the day i'll leave with him whispering "ooh la la."
6. weekend mornings are meant for brunch & yoga & reading poetry in bed.
7. having a back up for your computer is priceless. sometimes you learn this lesson the hard way. sorry, d. =( you handled that travesty like a champ though. you're my hero.
8. i remembered to buy canned pumpkin early this year. it's about time i figured that out.
9. when i tell male patients that i have to do a hernia check, they inevitably unbutton their pants and make a 90 degree turn away from me. WHY????? i still cannot answer this nagging question.
10. this is my new favorite shopping spot: www.shabbyapple.com
11. two of my most treasured friends will arrive for a chicago-style-weekend in 5 short days! happy birthday, rebecca cavnar!
12. i actually feel guilty for not having visited my dunkin' donuts girls in 2 weeks. i hope they aren't taking my absence personally. (or maybe i'm vain in thinking they have even noticed.)
13.these two threadless t-shirts are my current inspiration for a new tattoo:
14. even when friends are hundreds of miles away, i can still feel them here. love & light abound.
